Gradual Improvement Over Weeks
Results develop progressively as your skin responds to treatment, with changes in texture, tone, fine lines, and facial freshness becoming more noticeable over time.
Hair restoration at Interventional Orthopedics of Washington begins with a physician-led evaluation of your pattern of hair loss, scalp health, medical history, medications, and possible contributing factors. For selected adults with certain forms of non-scarring hair thinning, treatment may include autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP), prepared from a small sample of your own blood. PRP is intended to support existing hair follicles and may improve hair density or thickness in some patients. Every plan is individualized according to the diagnosis, extent of hair loss, health history, and treatment goals.
Hair loss can have many causes, and PRP is not appropriate for every patient or type of alopecia. Evidence suggests potential benefit for some patients with androgenetic alopecia, but treatment protocols and individual responses vary. A series of treatments and periodic maintenance may be recommended. Temporary scalp tenderness, swelling, bruising, bleeding, headache, or shedding may occur, and infection is possible. Results are not guaranteed, and referral to a dermatologist or another specialist may be recommended.
Hair thinning is caused by reduced blood flow, chronic inflammation, hormonal shifts, and follicle miniaturization. These factors gradually shrink hair follicles, shortening the growth cycle until strands become finer and eventually stop growing altogether.
DHT (dihydrotestosterone) gradually shrinks hair follicles over time, producing thinner, shorter strands until the follicle can no longer sustain visible growth.
Poor blood flow to the scalp starves follicles of oxygen and essential nutrients, weakening the hair growth cycle and accelerating thinning over time.
Chronic scalp inflammation and elevated cortisol from stress damage the follicle environment, pushing more hairs into the resting phase prematurely.
Shifts in testosterone, thyroid hormones, or estrogen disrupt the natural hair growth cycle, causing follicles to enter a prolonged dormant phase.
A physician-designed protocol combining in-office regenerative scalp therapy with a customized at-home prescription formula for lasting hair growth.
Activates follicles in the growth phase
Targets scalp health and hormone balance
In-office repair. At-home reinforcement.
Your physician evaluates your scalp health, hair density, thinning patterns, and underlying causes to design a treatment plan tailored to your specific type of hair loss.
Precise, physician-administered PRP or stem cell injections use your body’s own growth factors and regenerative cells, delivering them directly into the scalp to help reactivate dormant follicles and stimulate new hair growth.
Over the following weeks, treated follicles re-enter the active growth phase. You'll gradually notice reduced shedding, thicker strands, and improved hair density.
A customized prescription hair growth formula maintains your results at home, targeting scalp health and hormone balance to keep follicles active long-term.
Results develop progressively as your skin responds to treatment, with changes in texture, tone, fine lines, and facial freshness becoming more noticeable over time.
As collagen support improves, facial wrinkles and fine lines around the eyes, mouth, and chin may appear softer, smoother, and less pronounced.
Improved tissue support may soften under-eye shadows, hollowing, and areas of facial volume loss for a more rested, balanced appearance.
The goal is refreshed, balanced improvement that still looks like you, with results that support your overall facial features without looking overdone.
Please note: individual outcomes vary based on anatomy, skin quality, treatment area, and treatment plan.
A strong fit for patients noticing fine lines, creasing, or facial wrinkles who want smoother-looking skin without a surgical approach.
Ideal for patients with under-eye hollowness, facial volume loss, or tired-looking contours who want subtle, refreshed support.
This can be a good fit for those beginning to notice changes in skin texture, elasticity, collagen support, fine lines, facial fullness, or pigment changes.
Ideal for patients who want softer wrinkles, improved skin tone, better skin quality, and a refreshed appearance that looks balanced, natural, and not overdone.
A good fit for patients concerned with uneven tone, melasma-like discoloration, sun-related pigment changes, or patchy areas that make the skin look dull or uneven.
Best way to know: a personalized evaluation helps determine whether this treatment matches your facial anatomy, skin quality, pigmentation concerns, and goals.
Most patients begin to notice reduced shedding within months. Visible improvements in hair thickness and density typically develop over 6 to 18 months as follicles re-enter the active growth phase. Results continue to improve with follow-up sessions as recommended by your provider.
PRP uses your own blood-derived growth factors, which significantly reduces the risk of allergic reactions or rejection. Similarly, our stem cell treatments utilize your body’s own regenerative cells, ensuring a high level of biocompatibility and safety. We do not use donor stem cells or exosomes from external sources. Introducing foreign biologic material can increase the risk of immune reactions, rejection, and other complications. By exclusively using your own cells and growth factors, we prioritize safety, compatibility, and more predictable outcomes. As with any medical procedure, safety also depends on the expertise of your provider and a thorough medical evaluation to determine if you are an appropriate candidate for treatment.
The number of sessions varies based on the severity of thinning, your scalp health, and your restoration goals. Many patients begin with a series of 3 to 4 treatments, spaced every couple of months or once per quarter. After the initial series, periodic maintenance sessions are recommended to help sustain results.
Most patients experience minimal downtime. Some temporary scalp tenderness, redness, or mild swelling at the injection sites is normal and typically resolves over 1 week. Most patients return to their regular routine the same day.
That depends on the extent of your hair loss and your goals. Regenerative treatments like PRP and stem cell therapy work best for early to moderate thinning by strengthening existing follicles. For advanced hair loss, a transplant may be more appropriate. A consultation helps determine the best approach for you.
Schedule a personalized consultation and explore whether regenerative treatment for thinning hair and receding hairlines is the right next step for your goals.
