Insurance & Cost Answers

Insurance, out-of-network care, consultation fees, HSA/FSA, superbills, and financing — clear, upfront answers with no surprise billing.

Our Bellevue-based doctors have opted out of all insurance networks, including Medicare. This lets them personalize treatment based on what's best for you, not what's covered. We do, however, accept Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and third-party liens. For payment, we accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, debit cards, checks, cash, HSA, and FSA for all services.

Most insurers still classify regenerative treatments like PRP and stem cells as elective or investigational, so they typically aren't covered — regardless of the clinic. Being out of network also lets IOW's physicians design the most appropriate treatment rather than one limited by coverage rules. Insurance may still apply to related services like evaluation or imaging in some cases, which the team reviews with you.

Cost depends on the treatment and the area being treated, so a precise figure is provided as a clear written breakdown after your consultation — with no surprise billing. As a general guide, PRP is IOW's more accessible regenerative option, and stem cell therapy costs more because of the added collection and processing involved. Ranges are discussed openly at your visit so you can decide with full information.

The initial orthopedic consultation with Dr. Silva or Dr. Sridhar is $500, for either an in-office or telemedicine visit. It includes a thorough review of your medical records, a physical exam, and a diagnostic ultrasound of peripheral joints when applicable. The consultation fee does not include any treatment procedures — those are quoted separately after your evaluation.

The $500 consultation is a standalone fee that covers the physician's time, exam, records review, and diagnostic ultrasound when applicable; it is billed separately from any treatment you later choose. This keeps the evaluation thorough and unbiased — the recommendation is based on your diagnosis, not on committing to a procedure. Your treatment quote is provided after the consultation.

Yes. IOW accepts HSA and FSA payments for services, alongside major credit cards, debit, checks, and cash. Because regenerative treatments are generally paid out of pocket, using pre-tax HSA/FSA funds is a common way patients manage the cost — check your plan's rules on eligible expenses.

A superbill is an itemized receipt you can submit to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement. IOW can provide one on request, but because the physicians are out of network, reimbursement is not guaranteed and in many cases patients receive little or none. It's best to contact your insurer directly to understand your out-of-network benefits before treatment.

Yes. IOW offers telemedicine consultations for patients who can't visit in person right away, with the same attention and care planning as an in-office visit. Many patients fly into Seattle from out of state or overseas and combine their exam and treatment into a single trip, coordinated by the team.

IOW aims to make treatment manageable with transparent pricing and flexible payment methods, including HSA/FSA, major cards, debit, checks, and cash. Costs are always reviewed clearly before anything begins so you can plan ahead. Ask the care team about current options during your consultation.
