At Interventional Orthopedics of Washington, Dr. Silva uses a variety of tools to investigate the problem and help you understand your condition so that you can make informed decisions with confidence. Some of these tools include:

- Advanced Physical Exam Techniques

- Detailed review of imaging (MRI, Xray, CT scan)

- Ultrasound diagnostic examination of peripheral joints (i.e., knee, shoulder, hip)

These techniques are used at every in-person new patient evaluation with Dr. Silva.

If needed to further confirm findings, Dr. Silva offers

- Image-Guided Diagnostic Injections for spine and peripheral joints (*Diagnostic injections are not included as part of the new patient initial consultation)

If you’re unsure about a diagnosis or treatment plan from your doctor, you should always get a second or even third opinion. If you have been recommended surgery but would like to see if you have non-surgical options, make sure you see a specialist who is qualified to evaluate and treat your problem area non-surgically, such as an MD or DO with sub-specialty training in Interventional Orthopedics.
