Each in-person new patient evaluation includes a thorough physical examination, a careful review of prior imaging such as MRI, X-ray, or CT scans, and diagnostic ultrasound of peripheral joints including the knee, shoulder, and hip when appropriate. Ultrasound allows our doctors to assess soft tissues in real time and identify issues that may not appear on static imaging.

When additional confirmation is needed, image-guided diagnostic injections may be recommended for the spine or peripheral joints. These injections are performed under ultrasound or fluoroscopic guidance to help precisely identify pain generators and clarify the most appropriate non-surgical treatment options. Diagnostic injections are scheduled separately and are not included in the initial consultation.
