Otoño Silva, MD
Otoño Silva, MD, founder of Interventional Orthopedics of Washington in Bellevue, Washington, is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and fellowship-trained in Interventional Orthopedics which is a specialty focused on non-surgical regenerative injection therapies, including image-guided prolotherapy, PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) and Stem Cell Therapy for orthopedic or musculoskeletal applications. Dr. Silva is a true believer in the power of the advanced non-surgical cellular medicine techniques he offers at his clinic, and he optimizes his own joint health following the same protocols he recommends to patients so that he may continue to enjoy participating in his favorite activities such as snowboarding and hiking for many years to come.
Dr. Silva is one of the most uniquely trained and experienced musculoskeletal and interventional orthopedic medicine practitioners in the Pacific Northwest, and he has a passion for developing a partnership with his patients to work towards their optimal health with an integrative approach.
He was inspired to pursue medical school after he received a personal regenerative medicine injection treatment many years ago to avoid a recommended surgery, and astonishingly he never saw the problem return.
He believes in optimizing the patient’s overall health for their best long-term outcome, and regularly makes recommendations for rehabilitative chiropractic care, physical therapy, nutritional planning and hormone balance as needed to comprehensively address their health and well-being.
Before his formal medical training, Dr. Silva earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition and worked as a licensed massage therapist. The skills he developed as a bodyworker have enhanced his hands-on physical exam skills as a physiatrist and interventional orthopedic specialist.
He continues to expand his skills and knowledge by conducting research in interventional orthopedics to advance the field. He also instructs courses for the Interventional Orthopedics Foundation (IOF) around the country to share his advanced knowledge and pass these skills on to other physicians. Dr. Silva hosted and instructed the first-ever IOF course outside of the organization’s HQ in Colorado at his Bellevue clinic in September 2019.
